From our feedback channel we knew members wanted medication information, but weren’t sure what they wanted it for. After conducting research we found what they wanted most was to know dosing instructions, what they were taking the prescription for, and possible drug conflicts. None of this was information we would reliably have for MVP. We did know they wanted to be able to share a list of medications. After testing out a digital sharing feature, we found the only solid use-case participants could think of was sitting in a doctor’s office. Our MVP ended up as a list of prescriptions organized by most recently filled, that contained the strength, amount, pharmacy, and prescribing provider information——careful not to display the information in a way that could be interpreted as dosing instructions.

Hi-fidelity
In user-testing we found that people would assume that the list would update itself and would be current to what they were currently taking. Since we could only pull in raw claims data, we couldn’t do that. We did design an archive feature that supported multiple discovery and interaction methods, but for timing reasons had to shelve it until version 2.
